Clean Bill of Health

Today I went to the doctor's for a check up. The doctor gave me a clean bill of health. He does want me to take my puffer medicine every day and to try one more medicine to help with my allergies, but other than that I am "A OK"! I weigh 31.8 pounds and am 36 and 3/4 inches tall. Kind of short still for my age, but at least I keep getting bigger! I was so brave today that I only cried for about a minute while I got 2 big shots. After they were done, I stood up and told the nurse that it wasn't so bad.

Mommy always says I am her sweet boy. Yesterday I told her she was my sweet girl.
Santa is coming tomorrow night and I can hardly wait any longer!

Just about 3!

Can you believe I am going to turn 3 on Saturday? Mommy and Daddy pretended it was my birthday this past weekend and I got to have a party at a jump house with some of my friends. Below are a bunch of pictures from my party. It was a lot of fun!

So much has happened in the last couple of weeks I don't even know where to start! But I do know that Santa is coming soon and I am really excited for Christmas. I helped Mommy and Daddy pick out a tree. They even took me to see Santa, but I swear I tell ya I ain't going near that man, even if they say he'll bring me the car city and garage that I really want.

A couple of weeks ago my Nana and Grandpa came to visit! I love them so much and was so happy to see them. I can't wait until I see them again. If you check out the Photo Album of the Month there are a couple of pictures from when they were here. There are also some pics of my buddy Abby's birthday party. She turned 1! And some of my big friends and friends from school. Speaking of school, I am going to have to find a new one or my school is going to have to find a new building before end of next month. Mommy has been very upset at what is going on. I'd be happy if she stayed home with me! I'd take good care of her.

My Visit with Grandma and Grandpa

I just got home from a visit to South Carolina to visit my Grandma and Grandpa. I had such a fun time! Grandma spoiled me again and I got to play with new toys and eat lots of cake. We went to the beach and to two different playgrounds. I LOVE the beach and I was lucky that it was a warm day because a wave came up and knocked me down. I even made a new friend named Prudence, Pru for short. Grandma was dogsitting for the weekend. I had fun at Grandma's and hope I get to go back soon. On the way home I counted 24 car carriers. Here are some pictures from my trip South.

Halloween Fun

This year I was a scary spider for Halloween. I really wanted to be Lightning McQueen, but mommy made me be a spider. Next year, Aunt Laurie could you please send mom a McQueen costume, instead of a spider? I had fun trick or treating and got a bag full of candy. Mom said I couldn't eat it all in one night, but I really wanted to try. We also had lots of Halloween fun at school. I went on my first field trip with my friends from school. We went to a farm that had a train ride, a giant slide, a house full of corn to play in, a hay ride, and a pumpkin patch. I had a lot of fun and mommy even came with me! I think she had fun in the corn house and on the slide too! Last weekend I took mommy and daddy on a hike through Duke Forest. We were looking for signs of Autumn, a new word I learned at school. We found lots of colored leaves and then we had a picnic and I got to throw rocks in the river.

Bailey the Cat

My school had a cat named Bailey. Bailey passed away this week after an accident. He was my good friend. He always let me pet him and he made me laugh. I even thought it was funny when he scratched me one time. But most of all I loved it when Bailey would sleep on my mat at naptime. Bailey used to come up to Mommy's car in the morning to get his daily pets from Mommy and to say hello. He liked to play with all of the kids at Holy Family and he always looked out for us. My friends and teachers loved Bailey too. We'll miss you Bailey!

What I've been up to

Sorry that I haven't had a chance to tell everyone what I've been up to lately. It's been a busy month! My Nana and my Ellie just came to see me, but they didn't stay long enough. I took them to the pool lots of times and to the playground, the museum, and lots of other fun places. We had lots of fun at home playing with my cars and other toys too. Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks.

and you should have seen the other guy . . .

My Cousin Ellie, the Author and Illustrator

This is a book my cousin Ellie made for me. It's my favorite book and it's all about cars.

Pictures from My Family Vacation

We're home! I had a fantastic time Up North. I got to see lots of family and play with all of my cousins. My mom and dad said I aged about two years because I wanted to keep up with all the big kids. I even picked up a few new words, but mommy says potty talk isn't good to use. I got to go to the beach, the pool (by the way, did I tell you that I can swim now? -- sort of), play lots of golf and baseball, ride a bike, take the golf cart for a spin or two, and stay up really late. Check out the pictures below to see me and my cousins in action.

Summer is really here!

Sorry for taking so long to get a new post up! I've been very busy. I've had a busy summer playing with friends at school and with mom and dad. Mom and dad have taken me to the pool a few times and I love it. Mom thinks I'm a shark in the water. But I told her I am a nice shark. I think I will be swimming by the end of the summer. Next week we fly up north! I can't wait to see my Nanny, two Grandpas, Grandma, and lots of cousins! Stayed tuned for pictures and stories from my vacation to Michigan. In the meantime, check out a few pics that mom has taken over the last week or so.

Bye Josephine and Sabrina

Last weekend my best buddies Sabrina and Josephine moved to a new home in South Carolina. Mom said we can go visit them soon. I got to talk to them on the phone tonight and pretty soon I am going to learn how to use our web cam so I can see and talk to them through the computer. I miss them already!

What I've Been up to Lately

Last week I had my first gymnastics performance. At my school we have a program called Tumblin' Tots. Ms. Lisa teaches me how to do different kinds of tumbling moves. There are more pictures from the gynastics show and things I have been up to in the last week or so in the Photo Album of the Month.

Last weekend I got my hair cut. What do you think? I also went to Hillsborough to see Aunt Elisabeth and Uncle Tommy. We saw a really cool fire truck and I got a fire fighters hat from a fire fighter. On Saturday I went to the museum with Mom and Dad.

On Sunday Aunt Heather and Uncle Jay came to visit. We had lunch together and then I had a little bit of work to do with my tools.

I Love My Aunties and My Nana

Last week Nana, Aunt Katie, Aunt Laurie, and Aunt Gucci came to visit me. I had so much fun with them, even if I wasn't feeling quite right. I got to go shopping with Nana and Aunt Gucci and one night we all went to Maple View Farms for ice cream. My Mommy had fun with them too and she got to spend a weekend with just "the girls", while me and Daddy hung out. Check out all the new pictures in the Photo Album on the right.
PS: Happy Birthday Aunt Katie! I love you

Life as a Two Year Old

I am learning so many new things and doing so much on my own, but lately, I have been having a hard time listening to my mom and dad. Mom tells me I need to turn on my listening ears. Sometimes I give my teachers a hard time too, but I am trying to be a big boy. Last week we learned about the circus in school. Then on Friday we had a circus party. Mommy got to come to school to play and take a couple of pictures. Check them out in my photo album on the right. I also got to spend the day with Aunt Heather recently. We had a lot of fun and I was on my best behavior. We got to walk around in the arboretum and I saw birds and squirrels. Sometimes I like to run around the house and pretend I am Superman, so mom and dad bought me a super cool cape with the letter "B" on it.

And I thought chickens laid eggs

I didn't like eggs until this past week. Mom said it was the Easter bunny that came and hid eggs for me to find. But these weren't the kind that I usually see that come from chickens. These eggs were different colors and you could open them to find lots of yummies and other treats inside. The bunny even brought me a funny monkey puppet, a book, and some new cars. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house in South Carolina. I had lots of fun. Every morning I set up an Autorama for Grandpa and he got to see all of my cars. Grandma took me to get ice cream and we went to the playground. I got to see lots of birds, alligators, and even dolphins when we went to the beach. I tried to catch a seagull, but it kept running and flew away from me. Tomorrow Auntie Heather is coming to play with me!

Funny Ben Stories

So I thought it was time to share some of my favorite stories about Ben. Ben is saying a lot more now, and we think we understand most of what he says, or at least we get the gist of it. He has stories to share and keeps us laughing. Here are some Ben funnies:
  • The other day we went to Sam's club to run a few errands. Ed had strained his back and when he got into the car he said "oh my freakin back" (yes, he did say freakin, not the other word). Ben was strapped in his car seat in the back and added his 2 cents with "oh it's freakin cold". And yes he was right, it was a very cold morning!
  • Ben's has had the stomach flu twice in the last two months. During one of his episodes, Ed attempted to catch a certain liquid in his hands. As Ed made his way to the bathroom he starting saying under his breath "god oh god", trying carefully not spill anything. So Ben started to say "Daddy, god oh god...." over and over again.
  • We were driving down the road and when we stopped at a light I saw a flat bed truck with about four porta-potties on the back. I said to Ben "Look Ben those are potties on that truck" and I explained the idea of a porta-potty to him. When the light turned green and the truck pulled away Ben started yelling " bye bye poop, bye poop" over and over.
  • Ben's favorite words: up pick car (pick up truck), yummies, noodles, baby, kitty, hi honey, 'kay (okay), two minutes, tanks (thanks), nigh-nigh (night night for bedtime), boopball (football), keen (for Lightening McQueen) and any of the other names of the Cars movie characters, mall, Target, and Big Cake

more to come.....

Busy Days

Mom, Dad, and I have been really busy lately. I've been playing hard at home and at school. I am finally settling into the Star room at school and really like my teachers Ms. Sasha and Ms. Alice. And best of all my best buddies Sabrina and Josephine are Stars too! I was missing my old teacher Ms. Monisa so mommy and daddy thought it would be fun if we all had dinner with her. I am glad I got to see her. I also got to see a bunch of others friends like Heather, Jayson, Elisabeth, Tommy and we watched a basketball game on TV. Our team won! Then we got to see baby Abby and her mommy and daddy too! I got to play golf this weekend in the yard and I helped daddy rake leaves. And I got my hair cut!

A couple of weeks ago I got a hold of one of my sticker books. Mommy busted me.

Play Time

So one day it's snowing and the next it's hot outside. I think I like the warmer weather better. Last weekend I finally wasn't sick! But that means I have to go to school. I like school, but I was having a lot of fun staying home. Mommy and daddy took turns to stay home and play with me. We had a lot of fun together. This time I didn't even eat the play doh. You can see pictures of me playing in my jump jump house in my Photo Album of the Week (which should probably be called My Album of the Month).

Winter Fun

It snowed! Yes, that's right. We got snow. I'm not sure I really liked it, but it was fun to watch little white things fall out of the sky. Dad and mom made me go outside. At first I said "kay", I'll play boopball with dad, but man the ball got wet and cold and dad told me to pick it up and throw it. No way. When mom asked if I wanted to go inside with her for hot chocolate, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Hmm let me see cold wet winter weather or something something something chocolate. I am my mom's son, so it was an easy decision. Last week was a rough one. I have been getting over a "really nasty bug", at least that's what the doctor called it. Today I finally felt better and we went to the museum. Tomorrow I will go back to school. I've missed the Stars room.

I'm a star!

It's official. I am a STAR! I get to go to the big playground and do all sorts of cool activities in a new room at school. I have many new friends and I love my new teachers Ms. Christina and Ms. Sasha. Pretty soon my good buddies Sabrina and Josephine will be moving up too...
